LEEDS CONFERENCE TAKING SHAPE

The Leeds Jazz Conference, the UK’s best-established academic conference, on Thursday 26 and Friday 27 March looks to be taking on a new lease of life under the influence of indefatigable New Zealed-born singer (30 albums!)/and academic Louise Gibbs. Writer/journalist Stuart Nicholson is keynote speaker.

FORM 696-MORE HEAT THAN LIGHT

The PETITION ON THE NUMBER 10 WEBSITE to have Form 696 scrapped has gathered 15,000 signatures. The campaign has so far generated a lot of debate, but, alas, no results. Whatsoever. UK Music and the Musicians Union have work to do.

BREMEN JAZZAHEAD HAS BRITS

Joe Paice of Jazz Services organized a successful presence last year at IAJE in Toronto.
