NEWS: Portico Quartet sign for Real World

NEWS: Nick Mulvey (above) is hanging out with a new label.
The Portico Quartet’s Myspace site confirms that the band has moved to
WOMAD/Peter Gabriel’s Real World label. Their first album, Knee-Deep in the North Sea, on Oliver Weindling’s Babel Label, was nominated for a Mercury Prize.

Real World Records’ website is not yet updated for the news, but there is a mention from January here.

Portico Quartet’s next gig is at the Jazzahead trade fair in Bremen. In the UK it’s mainly festivals; nothing in London on the current schedule…
