Radiohead and jazz- more comment

LondonJazz reader Tony Dudley-Evans has posted a very thoughtful comment. Tony discusses the sly assertion by an Independent journalist that Radiohead had alienated the teenagers at Reading by “playing jazz”. (Here’s the link)

I ealise that journalist Nick Hasted has previous form in using “jazz” as a term of mild derogation. Try this, for example, discussing gangsta-rap, from Hasted’s book on Eminem:

Such are the crass pre-conceptions some people have about this music!
