Jazz FM has gone to the trouble of compiling a list of no fewer than THIRTY different jazz lists and are still begging for more. CDs of the year, of the decade. Way to go.
My best list of the day comes from typing #jazzsubstandards into Twitter. Things like “How High Keith Moon.”

Some good selections – but a depressingly all-American focus
I often think that these kind of cultural end of year lists, are just for professional reviewers to fill space at a slack time of year or because they are too hungover from media parties too write.The average person who maybe interested in music/film/books etc and does'nt recieve free review copies or private screenings gets their culture as and when they either come across or can afford it.
