Shall we go out to the football instead?

I used to go quite often to games at Queen’s Park Rangers’ ground in Shepherds Bush. Which is why a sentence – not reported elsewhere – from the Guardian’s match report after Tuesday night’s goal-less draw against Milwall (ground pictured above) has stayed in my mind all week.

Somewhere in West London are parents whose son is lucky to be alive.
