Maureen Sexton

Value the volunteer. And no volunteer can have contributed more to the London jazz scene than Maureen Sexton, who died unexpectedly, one month after cardiac surgery, on September 24th.

Mick and Maureen Sexton have supported the WayOutWest group of musicians by running the front-of-house and doing the accounts ever since its inception. Maureen was to be seen at hundreds of other gigs. Liane Carroll, Partisans… It has been a massive contribution.

The funeral is this Thursday October 7th at 1pm at Mortlake Crematorium, after which there will be a gathering at the Bull’s Head, with a number of the WayOutWest musicians performing.

Sincerest condolences to Mick, Angela, Helen and Margaret.

Mick is asking for memories and tributes to go into a memorial book. Please either leave comments here, or friends may ask me for the email or postal address.
