  2. Do the people who vote ever get out? I thought it was a reprint of the 1990 list (Rising stars excepted of course)

  3. wow this is an incredible misrepresentation of the british jazz scene. shame on the panel. how about giving some light to players who havn't had either a 40 year career OR a 3 year one? no one i'm sure denies that the musicians selected here are great but that is precisely the reason why they dont need more accolades. It damages the future of musicians careers wanting to get a foothold in the ladder when they are ignored like this. I wish I could put a name to this post, but pointless self-congratulating awards like this make it impossible and only drive opinion (and the music) more underground. to me, there is not much 'breadth' of selection in this list, save for the token flavours of the month. time to acquire a taste.
