Jazz Consultation starts in Conway Hall on Monday 21st

What are the needs of the UK’s Jazz Sector? an Open Space event hosted by Jazz Services and sponsored by the Musicians’ Union takes place on Monday 21st November at Conway Hall.

The background to the meeting is as follows:  at a meeting of members of the All-Party Parliamentary Jazz Appreciation Group, Dame Liz Forgan, Chair of Arts Council England, told the members that in order to give more money to support jazz, it was necessary to know what the sector wanted.

Our understanding is that the Open Space event on Monday is due to kick off a wider consultation.
More details of Monday’s event are on the Musicians Union website. Admission is £10, £5 concessions, free to members of the MU jazz section. People wanting to attend can just turn up, but are asked to email jazz.openspace (at) gmail.com to tell the organizers. We will have a LondonJazz writer attending.
