Jeanie Barton’s new Monday jam!

Kai Hoffman went along on Monday to Jeanie Barton’s new Jam, and writes:

Attention all singers and instumentalists! The lovely Jeanie Barton’s brand new jam session, just a few minutes walk from Holborn, is the best place to be every other Monday night.

Starting at the reasonable hour of 7:30pm, Jeanie would like to welcome instrumentalists in the first set and vocalists in the second to join her wonderful , full rhythm section of Joe Bickerstaff on keys, Jason Simpson on bass and Sophie Alloway on drums – every other Monday.

For those of you who like a pint of real ale, The Enterprise is a great pub – with plenty of space to spread out and get comfortable and a really nice atmosphere, a good selection of independently brewed beers and a rather impressive cheese board (though they could’ve done with
supplying some more biscuits…!). Go check it out – it’s free entry and runs until pub closing.

Details on Jeanie’s website

Every other Monday Evening from 7.30 p.m. Next one January 23rd.

  2. Annie Janowitz:”The Enterprise jazz evenings have been going for over year now, established and guided musically and spiritually by Jeanie Barton who plays with her excellent quartet for the first set, and then makes room for guest musicians and singers. I have been attending for almost as long as its been running, and the atmosphere is very welcoming as well as very supportive: you are encouraged to sing even if you are a jazz beginner, and when you've finished, the audience is still on your side! The pub is easy and relaxed and Jeannie's regular musicians — Joe Bickerstaffe, Jason SImpson, and Sophie Alloway — are always helpful as well as kind. I have been singing at the jam since last summer, and have learned a huge amount from listening to the muscians and the singers. Wouldn't miss it for the world.”
