The founder of Marshall Amplification Jim Marshall has died at the age of 88. Here is the obituary in the Ealing Gazette

Jim Marshall and Cleo Laine share West London musical roots, and have known each other for decades.  Marshall was a substantial supporter of the Wavendon Allmusic Programme and later of the Stables venue from the time when John and Cleo moved to Wavendon in 1970. Marshall Amps is based nearby in Blechley. Marshall also supported the major re-development of the venue, as a result of which the Jim Marshall Auditorium, opened in 2000, bears his name. A spokesperson for the Stables said : “This is a sad day for The Stables, a sad day for Milton Keynes and a sad day for music.”
