Not sure how this particular picture was picked but it is one of my favorite buildings and is in my hometown of New Haven CT, U.S. A.
The picture shown is of the Beineke Rare Book Library at Yale University, and is an amazing building, designed by Gordon Bunshaft of Skidmore Owings and Merrill and opened in 1963. The panels on the right are slices of 1 1/4 inch thick granite that surround the building and filter the light from outside to protect the books inside. Their coloration varies during the day and are magnificent in the twilight in particular.
Just thought folks might be curious.
