We have recording sightings of one of the most important works in progress in British music of our time at the Guildhall (Feb 2011), then at the London Jazz Festival (Nov 2011), and most recently in Cambridge.

According to the preview of the Stan Sulzmann Big Band concert at the Manchester Jazz Festival, the gradually expanding suite of pieces by British composers now features work by TEN composers including Stan himself. The other nine are: John Taylor, John Parricelli, Nikki Iles, Mike Walker, Iain Ballamy, Kate Williams, Gwilym Simcock, Jim Hart and Kenny Wheeler.

The Manchester Jazz Festival have also published an INTERVIEW in which Stan talks about some highlights of his career. It’s quite some list. Where’s that OBE?
