Mike Janisch’s Whirlwind Recordings label announces that they will be recording a new album with a 12-piece ensemble by Mike Gibbs in December, and releasing next year. The great composer/arranger’s 75th birthday falls on September 25th this year.

There is a celebration of Mike Gibbs at the Vortex on 12 and 13 December. It'll be led by Hans Koller and, as well as the 12 piece band (heard earlier this year in Birmingham and the Vortex), there will be interviews/talks with Richard Williams and Mark-Anthony Turnage.
So excited. Mike Gibbs is great!
