Give me a Z. Give me an L. Zédel

I’ve now been a couple of times (HERE and HERE) to the new cabaret room Crazy Coqs at Brasserie Zédel (the old Atlantic Bar and Grill) in Sherwood Street. They’ve been soft-launching this stunning, intimate, 66-capacity red white and black room, finding out what works, inviting performers like Ian Shaw, John Standing, Harold Sanditen and Hope Springs to put it through its paces. The buzz from the performers is that they like the ambiance. It is a cabaret room rather than a jazz room.  I’m told that the buzz on show nights can be palpably felt in the vast subterranean (inexpensive!) brasserie, people can sense that there’s something going on….

Now the team behind it are ready for the next phase, and  have just announced a programme through till Christmas, complete except for one week. Show-times are Monday-Thursay 8 30 pm. Two shows on Friday and Saturday at 8pm and 10pm.
