The first Prize at the Nottingham International Jazz Piano Competition, consisting of a Kawai piano, a recording session and UK gigs, was won by Jeremy Siskind, aged 25. Originally from Irvine California, Siskind is now based in New York. He studied comparative literature at Columbia, music at Eastman College, has been a second prizewinner at the Montreux Competition, and currently performs and teaches extensively.
