A beautiful thing indeed …. October 28th will be Dame Cleo Laine‘s 85th birthday.

It’s on a Sunday which coincides with Live Jazz Matters at The Stables.

Jazz Matters is a once-a-month live session often combining jazz and conversation with guests “On the 28th” – the Stables are telling us –  “it’s a special celebratory concert for our First Lady.” Start time is 11 30 am.

With Mike Hatchard acting as compere, classic entertainment, jazz and otherwise will be provided by John Horler, Alec Dankworth, Jim Hart, Mark Nightingale and Jimmy Hastings with special guests Tony Coe, Jacqui Dankworth, Charlie Wood, Emily Dankworth, Elaine Delmar and Maureen Lipman. The Dame herself may well be tempted to join in…
