I was sad to hear – belatedly, this morning, and quite fortuitously from the grandfather of one of the Under 6 children whom I coach at London Welsh – of the passing on the 3rd of November of Bernie Tyrrell, after a long illness, only latterly diagnosed as lung cancer. Bernie and his wife Lynda have produced that monthly bible of the UK trad scene Jazz Guide from their home in Milton Keynes for several years, and Lynda will be continuing it.
