Tony and Tracey Dyett, who have put in an extensive commitment of time and money to make “Jazz on the Hill” in Herne Hill work, have written the following on their Facebook page:
Dear Jazz on the Hill friends & customers,
It is a sad day for JOTH – the previous owner of the Poet has convinced the leaseholder to give him back the business premises and has refused us entry. All locks have been changed for the second time despite us paying our rent till March 2013. We now have to fight the legal route to salvage what we have put in to Jazz on the Hill. We would also like to take this opportunity to say thank you for all your support and custom.
Best wishes to everyone. Tony & Tracey

“What a shame.. that was a great venue.”
This is appalling – The Poet will surely lose business once this is more widely known. The place will not be worthy of the name.
I have only visited this venue once and had a really great time. I hope the issues can be resolved and that JOTH will be up and running again. I am not local to the area but wish Tony & Tracey the best of luck and my support.

really a great shame. Lovely venue and on my street.Nice people too.
Tony and Tracey are very lovely people…they don't deserve that. Jazz venue needs to be leaded from passionate people as Tony and Tracey.

I loved Jazz on the Hill. The Poet was ALWAYS empty. Let's see how things pan out…
