Among the works on sale at a Chelsea Arts Club Charity Auction is this drawing by Mike Westbrook, and a work by Kate. Mike has written of this signed drawing entitled ‘Tony Common circa 1959’ (pen and ink drawing, photographic print 14″ x 10″): “I started my first band at Plymouth Art School in the 1950s. Tony Common was a contemporary. After a while I began to feel I had more to say as a composer and musician than as a painter, and so fell into the world of Jazz.”
The Auction runs till June 27th and is to raise money for the Artist General Benevolent Institution (AGBI) and the Chelsea Arts Club Trust MORE DETAIL HERE
