Iain Ballamy Interview / Kings Place Festival 2013 Preview

Interview with Iain Ballamy by LondonJazz

This year’s sixth, 104-concerts-in-three-days Kings Place Festival is on the horizon once more, running from the 13-15th September. All tickets are just £4.50.

One gig for the diary will be Iain Ballamy and Thomas Strønen’s Food, who will be at the festival on the 14th September in Hall 2 at 9:45pm.

INTERVIEW: We spoke to Iain Ballamy about Food, how it was formed, the secret to a lengthy collaboration, their practice of recording each gig (forming albums from the good moments), and more. We also play Magnetosphere from the album Mercurial Balm. There’s much more, a host of other events and gigs (jazz-related shows listed below) including Martin Speake Trio, Jason Rebello Acoustic Trio (in the acoustic marvel of Hall One), Dave Stapleton with Cellophony and Man Overboard.

Edition Records showcases a new venture from Dave Stapleton, Slowly Rolling Camera (Facebook link), and the Finnish band which has inspired them, Oddarang.
