Jazz Yorkshire has announced a commission worth £1000 for a three or four movement (four to five minutes each) suite for Big Band which evokes the character of Yorkshire.

the movements are to be of increasing difficulty: one for a junior band, one for a more experienced ensemble, and one for a semi pro big band.

Composers should submit their ideas by Friday October 18th to awards[@]jazzyorkshire.org outlining their ideas, previous examples of their work, and some sketches. The commission will be awarded by December 15th.
