You normally hear get to hear Hugh Masekela in big venues. Like the 8,000 capacity Kippies stage of the Cape Town Jazz Festival (above). Or the Royal Festival Hall (EFG London Jazz Festival November 15th.) But here is a rarity. He will play a duo set at Mansion House on Monday November 4th for an audience of 300 maximum. The event is mostly by invitation, but there are a small number of tickets on sale from the City Music Foundation. The tickets include a drinks and canapes reception, and are, say, about a third of the standard ticket prices for Barbra Streisand at the O2. Support are Brass Jaw and Zara McFarlane. DETAILS HERE
Another City Music Foundation is one of the first public events in the new Milton Court Concert Hall in Silk Street EC2. The foundation has endowed young musician scholarships, and it is a concert by the first batch of scholars on October 17th. More Details HERE.
