Simon Carter in October 2010 celebrating Boaters’20th Anniversary

Keyboard player SimonCarter‘s gig at Boaters Inn in Canbury Gardens in Kingston, an easy 65 bus ride from Richmond, celebrates its 23rd birthday tonight.

The gig,as ever,  is free admission, and has become one of the cornerstone weekly gigs of the London scene. The anniversary gig features saxophonist Mornington Lockett, electric bassist Laurence Cottle, drummer Jeremy Stacey and Simon Carter himself on keyboards, who will, as he says with characteristic modesty on his Facebook page, be “holding on for dear life!”.  Happy Birthday.
