A major writer on jazz, and one of the most significant figures in the Black Arts Movement of the 1960’s, Everett LeRoi Jones, who changed his name after, a major turning point in his life, the assassination of Malcolm X in 1965, to Amiri Baraka, has died at the age of 79.
