Gearbox Records’ Adam Sieff writes about their Jazz Kissaten evening at their studios in King’s Cross (full details / address below):

Gearbox Records are following the Japanese tradition of playing the best jazz music on state-of-the-art sound systems. We are hosting our first Jazz Kissaten evening at our vinyl mastering studio in London’s King’s Cross.

The two hour session will feature original Blue Note 1500 series pressings, Gearbox Records’ own audiophile releases and a special ‘wild card’ record, all played over our high end Audio Note monitoring and review system.

”What is this?” The Jazz Kissaten (literally coffee shops) are an institution in Japan where customers go to hear the finest recorded jazz recordings and share the experience with other jazz lovers.

  1. We're delighted that all the tickets for our first Jazz Kissaten evening have now sold out but sorry to have disappointed some of you. We'll announce the date of the next Jazz Kissa very soon and hopefully this can become a regular event.
