Joe Mudele

We were very sad to learn of the death earlier today of bassist Joe Mudele at the age of 93. Joe was a founder member of Club 11, and in the original line-up of the Dankworth Seven. He was a ubiquitous session player (Frank Sinatra, the Beatles’ Penny Lane, and Sergeant Pepper…). He continued playing a regular and popular Monday gig at Bexley Jazz until last year. Sincerest condolences to Jan. She and Joe have been good friends to this site.
