NEWS: Programme for 19th Manchester Jazz Festival (18-27 July) Announced

A new venue added for 2014: The Soup Kitchen in Spear Street

The Manchester Jazz Festival (18-27 July) have just announced their 2014 programme: eighty-eight bands (over five hundred musicians), eight venues (The Central Library, and the Soup Kitchen being two new ones) over ten days. All concerts are now on sale, prices are invitingly low, links to book are below.

Another important aspect of this year’s festival is the Jazz North Northern Line showcase which aims to celebrate and draw attention to the jazz scene in the North with a Jazz Promotion Network Conference and a Jazz on 3 Introducing show.

Anton Hunter will also have his new piece (Article XI) premièred. It was commissioned by the Irwin Mitchell mjf Originals scheme. When the news first broke, Hunter wrote about his commission for us HERE
