NEWS: Michael Caine with special guest Quincy Jones in London October 1st

Quincy Jones and Michael Caine, who happen to share the same birth date, 14th March 1933, did a number of joint 80th birthday shows around the world  – Las Vegas on the day itself, and in Japan – last year. A London date was scheduled – in conjunction with the Montreux Jazz Festival –  at the Royal Opera House, but it never happened. Now, thanks to the initiative of newly formed company Orchid Media, and a year later, it’s on, with Quincy Jones due to appear as a special guest at “A Night Out With Michael Caine“.

This is an NSPCC Benefit show at the Royal Albert Hall on October 1st. Tickets on sale from the Royal Albert Hall website at 9am on Tuesday 5 August.

– Jonathan Ross will interview Michael Caine onstage

–  Music from Caine’s best-known films – including scores by  Hans Zimmer and John Barry will be played live by the London Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Gavin Greenaway.

–  Joss Stone and Lance Ellington will perform songs from Alfie, The Italian Job (Quincy Jones score) and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
