You were responsible not just for the invention of the saxophone but also for the regularisation of valved brass instrument family that led to the formation of the brass band through the efforts of Henry Distin. We owe a huge amount to you and your biography, written by Wally Horwood (ISBN 0 905858 18 2) and published by Egon Publishers Ltd. is well worth a read.
