NEWS: US Violinist Nora Germain to make UK debut (Pizza Express Dean Street, 1st April)




23-year old American jazz violin sensation Nora Germain, seen and heard above with Martin Taylor, is to make her official UK debut (*) on April 1st at Pizza Express Dean Street, at the invitation of John Altman. This London appearance is a one-off gig andshe will be flying over specially for it.

From a family of string players  -both her parents were members of the Madison Symphony Orchesta – she started violin at the age of 2. Her studies have taken her to Idelwild Academy in California, the New School in Manhattan and the University of Southern California. She has made several soundtrack recordings in the studios of Los Angeles. She has worked with, among others, Manhattan Transfer, Evan Christopher, Richie Cole, Mundell Lowe, Martin Taylor MBE and Tommy Emmanuel.

In addition to Nora Germain, “John Altman and Friends” on 1st April will feature the Emmy and BAFTA Award winning composer/saxophonist Altman himself, plus vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Jacob Collier, Mitch Dalton, Andy Cleyndert, Pete Cater and some “surprise guests.”
