The music division of United Agents, UA Music, recently established by Alex Fane, launches its new record label United Agents Records today, with their first release, a self-titled album from British actor Samantha Barks. Her Music Director for the tour is jazz pianist Mark Edwards , the recording producer is James Macmillan and the album was recorded at his Quietmoney studio, with musicians such as Loz Garrett and Joe Stilgoe involved.
Alex Fane joined United Agents last year to launch UA Music (link to our news story). Between a third and a half of the clients represented by UA are jazz musicians or jazz-related people: John Altman, Tina Edwards, Ian Shaw, Barb Jungr, Kansas Smitty’s House Band, Jay Rayner, Judy Carmichael, Kourosh Kanani, Peter Horsfall and Todd Gordon,
United Agents LLP is a literary and talent agency with over 40 agents representing 2000 clients across departments including Actors, Books, Film, TV and Theatre.
Samantha Barks has received over 20 million views on Youtube and 20 million plays on Spotify. She was runner-up of BBC1’s talent show I’d Do Anything in 2008, and is best known for her role as Éponine in Tom Hooper’s film adaptation of Les Misérables. This album includes songs from Les Misérables, Amélie The Musical, Toy Story 2 and Oliver!.
Samantha Barks is on a UK tour, with a London date of 24th June at Shoreditch Town Hall, London
