We have a round-up review of the 2017 WDR3 JazzFest 2017 in preparation. The three-day festival (Feb 2-4) was held in the remarkable Theater Gütersloh – the buuilding opened in 2010. I attended the first two nights and one of the top writers about jazz in Germany Stefan Hentz will be writing for us about the last night. Here are a few photos of the central event of the Festival, the annual prize concert, and a few which capture the atmosphere and the astonishing building by WDR’s official photographer Lutz Voigtlaender. WDR is one of Europe’s leading jazz broadcasters.
