Sebastian writes:
Concidentally, two influential and valuable sources of comment on the jazz scene in London, The Blue Moment and EZHMag both announced almost simultaneously that they were, in one case “saying goodbye for now” and in the other that it is “time to take a break”. The announcements came within a few hours of each other on Friday 1 June.

Tina Edwards (biography) started her publication as Jazz Standard in 2014, which has been in existence under its current name EZHMag since March 2016. The full story is HERE . Tina has been the pre-eminent champion in the media of the new London scene. She will be presenting a daily show on Worldwide FM from 10-11am from Monday 4 June, as announced HERE, and also said: “I will continue to be sharing the music I love and championing shape-shifting jazz in other ways. I can’t reveal too much about those plans for now.”
Richard Williams (biography) started his blog The Blue Moment in February 2013. During this period he has also been a highly successful Artistic Director of the Berlin Jazz Festival (2015-2017) and also continued to write on a regular basis about sport and music for the Guardian. His reason for halting the blog is in order to concentrate on a book which is “not music-related”.
We regret the departure – for now – of two such consistently valuable resources (and also two of the first points of call for articles to list in our news and comment aggregator, the “Read Elsewhere” section of our weekly newsletter).
