NEWS: INNtöne Festival 2019 in Austria includes Abdullah Ibrahim and UK artists

Poppy Koronka writes:

INNtöne Festival is back and has announced its programme for 2019, which promises a few days of jazz-filled bliss in the Austrian countryside. A boutique festival which takes place on a pig farm in the open countryside, this festival’s rural charm and impressive line-up will certainly not disappoint.

Tiny festival, but huge star: another attraction of the small-scale countryside festival is the appearance of the big name of Abdullah Ibrahim, the acclaimed pianist, and composer.

For fans of the London jazz scene, a number of British acts are promised to make an appearance – Theon Cross, the poster boy for the festival is a particular highlight. The tubist has just released his new LP, Fyah, and the buzz around this young artist marks his appearance at INNtöne a particular highlight. Festival Director Paul Zauner keeps close tabs on our scene, and other UK artists who will be present are pianist Joe Armon-Jones plus Jean Toussaint with his sextet.
