Glasgow Jazz Festival has just announced the nominations for the 7th Scottish Jazz Awards and opened up the public vote (list of nominations and voting link below). The Awards Ceremony will be at Drygate on Sunday, 9 June.
Quoting the press release:
Jill Rodger, Director of Glasgow Jazz Festival and host of the Scottish Jazz Awards, said: “The Scottish Jazz Awards are an important opportunity to appreciate and reward some of the exceptional jazz musicians we have in Scotland. It’s an honour for us at the Glasgow Jazz Festival to host these awards and bring musicians and industry experts from across Scotland together for this annual event. Voting is open now and we have a fantastic selection of nominated performers to choose from.”
Clare Hewitt, Music Officer, Creative Scotland, said: “Awards ceremonies are always competitive at heart, but this shortlist highlights how interconnected and cohesive Scotland’s jazz scene truly is. This year’s event will celebrate the energy and diversity of ideas radiating from emerging talent and leading lights alike – something of which the public and the sector can be extremely proud.”
