It is free to attend, this study day marks the conclusion of my Jazz on BBC-TV 1960-1969 research project.

Over the course of two years, the project has consulted archives, interviewed 1960s participants and reenacted a live 1960s jazz recording.

I’m pleased to announce through LJN a special panel in the afternoon which will bring together Xhosa Cole (BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year 2018), Robert Mitchell (musical director, Jazz 625 Live), Marcus Viner (director Jazz 625 Live) and Janie Valentine (producer Jazz 625 Live) to discuss the current arts broadcasting landscape and the future of jazz television.

Attendees will be able to pick up complimentary limited edition copies of the 44-page project report (online version of it here)  and we’ll also be launching: Jazz Research Journal 12:1 (the first ever academic journal issue devoted to jazz and TV).
