Artists Announced for 2020 Swanage Jazz Festival (10-12 July)

Sebastian writes:  The first artists for the 2020 Swanage Jazz Festival, with a wide range of predominantly British jazz, have been announced:

Friday 10 July features musicians from the region, notably the Southampton Jazz Orchestra performing Miles Davis’ Sketches of Spain with a guest trumpet soloist still to be announced. For Saturday 11 July artists confirmed so far include Yazz Ahmed’s Polyhymnia, Arun Ghosh, Alan Barnes, Chris Batchelor’s PigfootAdam Glasser, Kate Westbrook’s GRANITE, Simon Spillett‘s quartet, Martin Speake’s Charukesi and The Sound of Blue Note: Tribute to Horace Silver. For Sunday 12 July, the Simon Spillett Big Band playing the Music of Tubby Hayes, the Art Themen/Xhosa Cole Sextet, Henry Lowther’s Still Waters, Nat Steele Quartet’s Portrait of The MJQ, Clark Tracey’s Quintet, the Alison Rayner Quintet and Craig Milverton‘s trio with Greg Abate.
The festival uses five venues in the town, notably the Mowlem Theatre. Swanage Jazz Festival is supported by Dorset Council, Arts Council England. Jazz South is supporting the performance of GRANITE.
