The competition is held every two years, and alternates with the Jarek Smietana Jazz Guitar Competition. Zbigniew Seifert (above, 1946-1979) was one of the most outstanding Polish jazz musicians whose untimely death prevented the full development of his musical abilities and curtailed his global career.
The idea behind the competition is to promote the musical heritage of Seifert as well as to help young musicians progress onto the international stage. Winners are selected by an international jury. Previous winners are:
Bartosz Dworak (2014)
Mateusz Smoczyński (2016- Report)
Mario Forte (2018)
Entries are accepted until 31 March.LINKS: Competition websiteCompetition rules
