The interview, in two parts/tracks (the second can be played by scrolling forwards) has been kindly provided by Verne Christensen, a jazz fan from Kansas City, whose role in making that trip happen is gratefully acknowledged in Peter King’s autobiography.

The interview was done by the late Dick Wright of radio station KANU in Lawrence, Kansas.
