Following the passing of Peter King, we have been offered  the opportunity to publish an interview with him which was done during a trip to Kansas City where he played at the unveiling of the Charlie Parker Memorial Sculpture on 27 March 1999.

The interview, in two parts/tracks (the second can be played by scrolling forwards) has been kindly provided by Verne Christensen, a jazz fan from Kansas City, whose role in making that trip happen is gratefully acknowledged in Peter King’s autobiography.

The interview was done by the late Dick Wright of radio station KANU in Lawrence, Kansas.
