[Clare Teal’s] first show will be on Sunday 24 January and each week, the two hours will feature music handpicked by Clare – the perfect place to pick up where she left off; the move follows her departure from the BBC at the weekend after 15 years.
Clare Teal is one of the UK’s premier multiple award-winning female jazz vocalists of her generation. She has collaborated with Sir Van Morrison and Gregory Porter, and has multiple ensembles in which she performs with, from a single pianist or her trio via her mini big band, her 9 piece big band and her 17 piece Hollywood Orchestra!
On joining Jazz FM, Clare says: “I am beyond thrilled to be joining Jazz FM. To find a new home as excited as I am, to share the music I love, with like-minded folks, is just brilliant. In addition to celebrating classic older big band, jazz, swing, latin, trad and whatever records I happen to be loving at the moment, I really want to focus on highlighting our fantastic and vibrant British big band, jazz, and swing scene which is as vital and relevant as ever.”
Jazz FM’s Content Director Nick Pitts says: “I’m so excited that Clare is joining our line-up of jazz experts and curators and to headline our Sunday evenings. Jazz FM starts 2021 with a re-invigorated commitment to providing the world’s greatest music to our jazz, soul and blues hungry audience and I can’t wait to hear Clare’s selections shine through on Jazz FM. Welcome to the team Clare”
Jazz FM is the largest commercial jazz station in the world [and] the UK’s only dedicated Jazz broadcaster.
