Feelings of loss and bereavement in many sections of our jazz community have been very widespread and palpable since the passing of Ray Carless on 10 August. We are informed that a Nine Night (*) is being held for him this Friday 19 August with his family, and have been assured that the night is open to anyone who knew him or is a fan.
