New Series: “Ubuntu Music Live” at Jazz Café launches on 29 September

Ubuntu Music and the Jazz Café are announcing a new series starting on Tuesday 29 September with the launch gig for two albums: James Copus’ album Dusk, and Joe Downard’s Seven Japanese Tales.

The full press release text is as follows: “Ubuntu Music is delighted to announce a series of live shows featuring a number of its finest recording artists at the legendary Jazz Café in London. On Tuesday 29 September a double album launch show kicks off the Autumn series – trumpeter James Copus presents his debut album, Dusk and bassist Joe Downard presents his debut Seven Japanese Tales.   Trumpeter Jay Phelps brings his Afro-Cuban vibe to the venue on Friday 16 October, celebrating Live at The Cockpit, his upcoming Ubuntu release.   The “Golden Girl of Jazz” (Evening Standard), saxophonist Camilla George, performs at the Jazz Café on Thursday 19 November.   Quentin Collins and Brandon Allen’s powerhouse quartet QCBA, are joined by the incomparable R&B/soul singer, Omar, for two shows on Saturday 28 November. The Darius Brubeck Quartet returns to Jazz Café on Sunday 20th June 2021. Additional shows at Jazz Café, showcasing Ubuntu Music artists, will be announced soon.
