Sebastian writes: Europe DOES include the UK. The AJC organisation in France has just been in touch with the specific – and reassuring – message that their call for applications for a new “Franco-European” project called Jazz With includes bands with a UK element.

Jazz With is an international iteration of AJC’s hugely successful “Jazz Migration” initiative within France, which has been running for more than 20 years. I attended the 20th anniversary celebration.

To be eligible, the applicant bands should be

• – From trio to sextet 
• – At least one French musician or resident in France for several years 
• – Other artists must reside in Europe (including UK)
